A recent survey asked people what part of the day they were the happiest. Now before we get to the normal people, I have to ask those of you who love your jobs what time of the day are YOU the happiest. Being part of a morning show from 6am-10am every morning is honestly the highlight of my day. I don't think I'm happier at any other point to be honest. So for me, that's the height of my day. But I realize I'm in a strange profession. It's rare to find a job or even a career that you look forward to going to each day. But what about less insane people. What do they think?
Turns out we're at our happiest between 6:00 and 9:00 P.M., because we finally get to unwind from work. On weekends, we start feeling good a lot earlier, around 11:00 A.M.
The survey also asked people to name the top things that can instantly put you in a good mood. Here are the top ten . . .
1. A good night's sleep.
2. When the sun comes out.
3. Going for a walk.
4. Getting a compliment.
5. Finding money in your pocket.
6. Getting a hug.
7. Good weather on the weekend.
8. The sound of birds chirping.
9. Flowers in bloom.
10. Having a snack. A few more that just missed the top ten are hearing the words "I love you" . . . eating a home-cooked meal . . . sleeping in . . . the smell of fresh-cut grass . . . finishing work early . . . and bumping into an old friend.
