Video Shows Florida Cops Revive Choking 18-Month-Old Who Stopped Breathing

Police officers in Kissimmee, Florida, happened to be in the right place at the right time to save a choking 18-month-old baby. The boy's mother, Amanda Zimmerman, flagged down a patrol car after her son, M.J., started choking and Goldfish cracker and stopped breathing.

Body camera footage captured the dramatic moment when Zimmerman handed M.J. over to the officers. One of the officers began patting the young boy on the back, hoping to dislodge the cracker, while another officer tried to calm Zimmerman down.

"At that point, I was just beside myself," she told WESH.

The officer then placed M.J. on his back and began to perform CPR.

"Come on, baby. Come on," one of the officers says as they desperately try to revive the boy.

Eventually, M.J. let out a gasp of air and started breathing again. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors gave him a clean bill of health.

"Being without oxygen for that long and then just coming out, he didn't miss a beat," Zimmerman said.

Zimmerman is thankful that a patrol car just happened to drive by when she needed help.

"God put them where they needed to be," she said. "It was just amazing that he was coming down at that moment."
