The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) is suing two AI companies for copyright infringement over their music-making apps.
The suit claims the makers of Suno AI and Audio AI, "Flouted the rights of copyright owners" by training their AI models with copyrighted music.
They also say the apps could "saturate the market with machine-generated content" that competes directly with the same music used to train it.
The RIAA represents major record labels including Sony, UMG, and Warner.
