Nicole Kidman made a statement at this year's Met Gala with a striking new hairstyle.

The Babygirl actress, known for sporting long blonde locks, switched things up with a shorter hairstyle that drew attention to her brown roots. Kidman strutted the red carpet in a "custom black, strapless Balenciaga Couture dress, paired with a set of black gloves" and a smile, per E!News. The stunning look was strapless and backless with bow details across the midsection. Silver and diamond jewelry accented her gloves, in addition to dangly diamond earrings that went perfectly with her new haircut.

The standout attended the event alone, breaking a three-year tradition of appearing with her husband, Keith Urban. The star-studded pair attended the gala together for the first time in 2016, where Kidman wore a diamond-encrusted moon phase gown and the "Kiss a Girl" artist a black suit with a white bowtie.

E!News mentioned that Urban played a joke on his partner during 2024's Met Gala after finding out she and Jimmy Fallon went on an awkward date in the '90s. The country singer explained the hilarious prank in tandem with Fallon during an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last September.

"I was sitting next to Nic. She had her hand on mine, and she was talking to somebody, and Jimmy came over to talk to me, and I said, 'Jump in the seat, Jimmy, and slide your hand under mine so she’s holding your hand.' She won't know. She’s chatting to somebody looking the other way. And then I went around the other side of the table and was like, ‘Hi Babe.'"

"She was like, ‘What's going on?' She was like, 'Jimmy, don't do that!'" Fallon jokingly recalled.
