Art Therapist Innae Julia Kim told The Pioneer Woman that colors are more than just preferences; they give a distinct insight into individual expression and personality.

"While color preferences may not definitively unveil personality traits, we can gain insight into an individual's expression by deferring to universal archetypes from nature and cultural history to understand a color's meaning," Kim explained.

If this is the case, then a change in your favorite color might reflect a change within yourself, and this choice could tell others more about you than you've previously realized.

Red:

This color is "often associated with words like 'passion,' 'romance,' 'anger,' and 'aggression.'" People who love red "identify with wanting to be seen, attracting attention, boldness, assertiveness, and intensity."

Orange:

This color "tends to be associated with things like vitality, energy, warmth, and comfort." People who love orange "may be considered outgoing, warm, fun, inviting and cheerful."

Yellow:

This color is "often related to words such as "energetic, happy, warm, cheerful, and bright." People who love yellow "may identify with traits such as youthfulness, brightness, positivity, and being noticed."

Green:

Green is "the color of spring, renewal, and re-birth" and is associated with prosperity. People who love this color "may identify closely with things of nature, growth, and vitality."

Blue:

Purple:
