More People Are Planning to Buy Candy Than Food for Easter?
Easter is this Sunday, which means your kids' diet this weekend will consist of chocolate . . . sugar . . . and whatever is in Peeps.
People were asked what they were planning to buy for Easter celebrations . . . and 92% of people said CANDY. That was the #1 answer. 90% said "food." (It's always nice to have some of that, just in case anyone doesn't fill up on candy.) (???)
64% said "gifts" . . . 53% said decorations . . . 51% said clothing . . . 46% said flowers . . . and another 46% said greeting cards.
Overall, Americans' spending on Easter is expected to reach a record total of $24.9 BILLION this year. That surpasses the previous record of $24 billion set in 2023. On a per-person basis, shoppers are budgeting a record high of $195, which is up from the previous record of $192 in 2023.

(If you're looking for a fun new tradition, DAD egg hunts are trending on social media. It's simple: DADs just tape plastic eggs to themselves, and run off . . . and the kids are unleashed to try to chase them down.)
